This guide shows how players can form an effective team to beat lv 20 advanced calamity with 1MP, and lv 15 ultra calamity with 2MP (1MP in some cases).

Mahoyaku knowledge that will help for this guide:

  1. Basic navigation around the game app
  2. How event (and event chibi) works
  3. How traits work
  4. How to make an all-999 chibi. There are guides to make an all-999 chibis in several locations (see this post). F2Ps might find it the easiest to make them using Bennett Bar’s Mitile Cannon (guide here). Though I suggest learning in other spots too (like Granvelle Castle).
  5. How mission works (the weather, the supporting traits, etc)

For people who just started playing, please read this comprehensive guide first. Here’s another link that contains guides. Otherwise, continue reading!

DISCLAIMER: Most of these are thanks to panda_4696’s guides. May be updated from time to time. Not total-beginner friendly, I'm sorry T_T

!! NOTE !!

This guide hasn't been updated since the increase of parameter cap to 1200, and the 3rd anniversary chibis, so some things might work differently (or not, bc all999 would prob still work and all1200 just makes it easier if you can make it consistently). I don't know when I'll update (if I do at all) (or if there's even anything worth noting) so sorry ><;

1MP chibi team, assemble!

What is this 1MP chibi team?

A popular way to navigate a mahoyaku event is to have a “1MP chibi team.” Basically, it’s a really strong chibi team (usually and ideally with the perfect 99900 parameters) that has a specific leader and mission skill. How it works: all of the party members’ mission skill will increase your leader’s parameter for it to deal the final blow to the calamity. With the help of three 5-leaf clovers (to increase the probability of mission skill to be activated), you can defeat level 20 advanced (上級) calamity with only 1 MP and level 15 ultra (超級) calamity with only 2 MP, or even 1 MP in certain cases. Imagine the time saved. Wow. So here we are aiming for the 99900, rainbow chibi team. I hope RNG will be kind to you….

The Chibis We Need

Quick note: Chibi skills that targets opponent's army (e.g. 相手パーティ内のキャラクターのパラメータ-2%) and nullifies opponent's skills that targets our party (e.g. 20%の確率で相手パーティからのマイナス効果を受けなくなる(最大2人)) DOES NOT have any effect when fighting calamities.

Leader

An ideal 1MP team leader is an all-999 chibi that has “Party’s mission skill activation rate increase by 6%”/”味方パーティ内のキャラクターのミッションスキル発動率+6%” leader skill on level 1, and 18% increase on level 5. As of October 7th 2022, they are:

  1. Birthday 2020 Oz / 【祝いの魔法使い】オズ
  2. Birthday 2020 Rutile / 【祝いの魔法使い】ルチル
  3. Birthday 2022 Faust / 【星影の儀の魔法使い】ファウスト
  4. Purple Arthur / 【紫の魔法使い】アーサー
  5. Red Riquet / 【赤の魔法使い】リケ
  6. White Mithra / 【白の魔法使い】ミスラ
  7. Blue Owen / 【青の魔法使い】オーエン
  8. Green Bradley / 【緑の魔法使い】ブラッドリー
  9. White Shino / 【白の魔法使い】シノ
  10. Purple Nero / 【紫の魔法使い】ネロ
  11. Blue Shylock / 【青の魔法使い】シャイロック
  12. White Chloe / 【白の魔法使い】クロエ
  13. Red Rutile / 【赤の魔法使い】ルチル
  14. Green Lennox / 【緑の魔法使い】レノックス

*these are only the 4*. Please note that lower rarity chibi will have lower parameter cap - (Source)

Why choose the mission skill rate up leader skill? Combined with three 5-leaf clovers, this will guarantee all 9 of your party members to activate their skill.

It's important to have your party members with high parameters, but it's even MORE important for the leader to have high/perfect parameters. Obviously, because we're buffing the leader's parameters.

But maybe at some point you’ll see yourself unable to defeat the enemy in one-punch even when your leader is an all-999. Easy solution: include the current event’s special rare trait. The reason is that the special rare event traits work as buffs because they are the event’s advantageous trait (more on this) (see comparison). By the time I’m writing this, Central Rhapsody is ongoing, that means 流星 is the special trait. I created a Green Lennox with 流星 trait and set him as leader. My suggestion is to include cards with “一緒に交流すると、20%の確率で参加したパートナーキャラからの特性付与率+6%” skill, and make sure the event card (lv 90 SR or at least lv 75 SSR) is included in the interactions/交流 when possible. Include them by seeing if the character is marked with yellow or red (higher chance to participate), like this:

Alternative

The chibi leader we can use as an alternative is the chibis that have “Self’s parameter increase by 21%”/”自分自身のパラメータ+21%” leader skill on level 1, and 42% increase on level 5. As of October 7th 2022, they are:

  1. Birthday 2021 White / 【パーティの魔法使い】ホワイト
  2. Birthday 2021 Owen / 【パーティの魔法使い】オーエン
  3. Tanabata 2020 Snow / 【魅惑的な魔法使い】スノウ
  4. Walpurgis 2020 Figaro / 【宴の魔法使い】フィガロ
  5. West Rhapsody Shylock / 【海街の魔法使い】シャイロック
  6. Christmas 2021 Mitile / 【輝く空の魔法使い】ミチル
  7. 2nd Anniversary Rustica / 【盛装の魔法使い】ラスティカ
  8. East Fantasia Nero / 【銀の卵屋の魔法使い】ネロ
  9. Green Mithra / 【緑の魔法使い】ミスラ
  10. Blue Chloe / 【青の魔法使い】クロエ
  11. Red Shino / 【赤の魔法使い】シノ

*these are only the 4*. Please note that lower rarity chibi will have lower parameter cap - Source

1-4 is relatively easier to make if you have the corresponding card, because getting the card episode will 100% give you the special rare pink trait that pretty much guarantees your chibi.

Please note that the downside to this self-buff leader party is that it doesn't guarantee all of your mission skills to be activated. There will be times where RNG betrays you and you have to defeat the advanced calamity with 2 MP. Of course, the probability of failing will be lower if your team has perfect 99900 parameters.

You might want to see the chibi traits recipe first (覚醒レシピ/予言書 on the chibi’s gamerch link) to make sure you have the required traits/要求特性 and don’t accidentally obtain an unfavorable trait/拒否特性. You might also want to check a location traits pool here. You will get location traits when you get great success/大成功. Getting an unfavorable trait will decrease your chibi’s maximum skill level cap (you can negate them by earning another favorable trait that has higher rarity).

If an event chibi has this exact leader skill, I recommend setting them as leader. This kind of jackpot happened during Central Prelude (Cain), Walpurgis 2020 (Figaro), Tanabata 2020 (Snow), and West Rhapsody (Shylock).

Party members

Again with the Mitile Cannon or other method, make all-999 chibis of any kind that has “Leader’s parameter increase by 21%”/“味方リーダーのパラメータ+21%” mission skill on level 1, and 42% increase on level 5. As of October 7th 2022, they are:

  1. June Bride 2020 Cain / 【花祭りの魔法使い】カイン
  2. Christmas 2020 Mithra / 【雪のマーケットの魔法使い】ミスラ
  3. Birthday 2020 Heathcliff / 【祝いの魔法使い】ヒースクリフ
  4. Birthday 2020 Mitile / 【祝いの魔法使い】ミチル (this is impossible to make using Mitile Cannon method)
  5. Blue Cain / 【青の魔法使い】カイン
  6. White Riquet / 【白の魔法使い】リケ
  7. White Snow / 【白の魔法使い】スノウ
  8. Blue Owen / 【青の魔法使い】オーエン
  9. Green Bradley / 【緑の魔法使い】ブラッドリー
  10. Blue Shino / 【青の魔法使い】シノ
  11. Red Nero / 【赤の魔法使い】ネロ
  12. Green Chloe / 【緑の魔法使い】クロエ
  13. Purple Rustica / 【紫の魔法使い】ラスティカ
  14. Purple Figaro / 【紫の魔法使い】フィガロ
  15. Red Rutile / 【赤の魔法使い】ルチル

*these are only the 4*. Please note that lower rarity chibi will have lower parameter cap - (Source)

Again, it’s easier to make 1-3 a.k.a the event chibis because you’re almost guaranteed to awaken those chibis if you have the corresponding card.

When doing event: An all-999 event chibi

I will assume you know what event chibi is and how it works (a guide if you don’t already know). Go to Bennett Bar again (or wherever, really. As long as you can get the highest total parameters possible), but this time, include event cards in your training party. F2Ps, it is time to rely on the power of your nakama to get that 10% event point bonus from their event SSR card.

You can browse this hashtag to see if anyone has set an event card as support. If you’re looking for level 100 cards, look for the word 完凸, and avoid 無凸.

About event chibis’ skills

This raises a question: “What if event chibi skill is not compatible for the ideal 1MP team?” (by not compatible, I mean they have skills other than leader parameter buff/mission skill activation rate increase)

Panda’s answer: Usually, there are two (2) new chibis every event. That means there are 2 leader skills and 2 mission skills to consider and adapt accordingly. What you’re looking for is the chibi with a parameter buff skill, either as leader or mission skill. You can find this out during the gacha period before the event. If you don’t understand Japanese, you can always ask around! (if I'm up to it, I'll make a spreadsheet of chibi skills, but no promises).

Due to this, you might need to revamp your 1MP chibi team every once in a while. In bad circumstances where there is no chibi with buff skill, or if you don’t have the mental energy to go through the painful process of making more all-999 chibis…. Remember, 2 MP is still good.

I wrote this during the Central Rhapsody event, so let me take it as an example.

Let’s have a look at Arthur, the 4* chibi.

Arthur has the mission skill “Party members’ parameter increases by 4% in RAINBOW weather”. In the Central Rhapsody event, the advanced calamity will appear in 3 conditions: sunny at the bridge, heavy rain at the bridge, and rainbow at the lake. Using the mission skill rate up leader, Arthur WILL NOT activate his mission skill when the calamity appears on other weathers. This means, the only time I can one-punch the calamity is when it appears at “rainbow at the lake”.

Now we look at Cain, the 3* chibi.

Cain, while being the 3* chibi, has the mission skill of “Parameter up by 6% for chibi that has 流星 trait, and parameter up by 3% for chibis that have はなむけ trait”. 流星 and はなむけ are the special event traits.

If we use a mission skill rate up leader (that has the rare event trait), then it’s better to put Cain as event chibi. No more reason to underestimate 3* chibi!

Reminder: Event chibis NEED the golden event trait for their skills to be at lv 5. If you awaken an event chibi with just the bronze trait, you'll get lv 3 at max. If you don't have the gacha SR card fully uncapped/gacha SSR at lv 75, look at your friend support list!

The 1MP chibi team is ideally formed with 4* chibis, but in events, you can’t always do that if you want higher attack power. Let the event chibi be your exception.

I know that Bennett Bar can be not-ideal in certain cases (like if the chibi is Mitile or the chibi has unfavorable traits in Bennett bar), so you might want to learn how to make a (near) all-999 in another spot like Granvelle Castle or Town of Rain.

Farm for 5-leaf clovers (x400-500 per event to be safe)

This item is a MUST HAVE to make this team work. And yeah, you’re gonna need hundreds of them. You can obtain a 5-leaf clover through training or mission. It’s a rare drop, though, so earning it that way is not exactly guaranteed. So what do we do? Train and sell chibis that have rare pink traits.

Chibis that have rare pink traits will give you a 5-leaf clover when sold. Here’s how to grind:

  1. Train with at least level 75 for event SSR cards. Level 90 event SR cards will also do. Just make sure they have the pink, golden frame trait.
  2. Include a card that has “一緒に交流すると、20%の確率で参加したパートナーキャラからの特性付与率+6%” skill to increase chances of getting a rare pink trait from the event cards. Or just see if one of the skills mentions % twice.
  3. Train until part 4 ends, and sell the chibi (tap the blue お別れ button on the chibi overview page, then tap the pink お別れ button in the next page). You will get a 5-leaf clover for each rare pink trait it has.

The maximum amount of 5-leaf clovers you can get from a chibi from training alone is six (6). If you have an abundance of chibi enhancing points, you can raise its mission level to at least level 3 first before selling them to get another 5-leaf clover. Plus, Prelude chibis have another gold pink trait you can buy with chibi upgrade points, except for West Prelude chibis.

In essence, you can get up to eight (8) 5-leaf clovers per chibi by awakening a prelude chibi (any country but West), and spending 26500 chibi upgrade points to upgrade its mission skill to lv 3 before selling it. You can never have enough. Get a thousand, or even two thousands of them.

Fighting Calamity

Go to event spots like usual, and fight calamities like usual. But this time, bring three 5-leaf clovers with you on the mission prep page.

Tap on mission item/ミッションアイテム button next to the pink OK button. Scroll down until you find the 5-leaf clovers, and fill the slots.

Proceed, and use 1MP to beat that lv 20 advanced calamity.

More advanced tip: Boosting your estimated attack power

There is another way to buff your team’s attack power. It is to pay attention to the thing that most players (that’s me. I am most players) ignore: Mission/engagement hints. Personally I don’t do this because I’m lazy but thought this might be helpful for your considerations.

Everytime you fight another player in mission training/calamities, there will be circumstances. They are: (1) Place, (2) Weather, (3) Advantageous trait, and (4) Advantageous parameter.

From what I see, (1) and (2) differ at every calamity level, and are pretty much there for chibi skill activation. You know, sometimes they have a skill that buffs your parameter ONLY in certain places or weather. You can ignore (1) and (2) if your leader has the rare event trait, though. You can also ignore (4) if you have an all-999 chibi team.

The only time you might want to pay attention and take notes of (1) and (2) is if the event chibi skill needs that specific circumstance.

That leaves (3). How do we know the advantageous traits for each event? They are the traits that you earn from uncapping the event SSRs, PLUS the rare event trait. Normally that would be 4 traits in total.

Let me show you. So a calamity attacks, and we engage with it by tapping the pink button.

Your screen will now show this hint page.

The word on the top left is the Place (in this case 墓地, grave). The word on the right with a little emoji next to it is the Weather (in this case 雷, thunder). The red word in the dialogue is the advantageous trait (高潔), and the yellow word is a word related to a parameter. In this case, 誇り means pride, so the Pride parameter will receive a boost for this fight.

You don’t have to remember the hints. After another tap on the screen, you’ll see the mission preparation page. Tap on the orange (ヒント, hint) button to see the hints again.

EDIT: As of recent updates to the game, the hint dialogue was changed, like shown below. It’s now more straightforward and visual, making it easy for those who do not read Japanese. Hooray!

Because there are 3 event SSRs in Central Rhapsody, there are 3 advantageous traits + 1 rare event trait = 4 advantageous traits!

You see how 高潔 is the advantageous trait here? It’s because 高潔 is the level 100 trait for Oz’s card.

To make this work the best, you can revamp your chibi leader to have ALL 4 of it. You can use other cards that has 高潔 (from Oz’s card), 優雅 (Snow), and 威厳 (Arthur). Most of the time just having the event trait on the leader is enough.

This will differ every event so make sure to check them out from friends’ support list. If they haven’t fully uncapped them, you can still tap on 成長リスト button (the white button next to a card’s EXP level bar) to see it. Have a look at my dupe initial Chloe from this month’s SSR ticket.

There, the purple 高貴 trait. It says it unlocks after reaching level 100.

This information is also accessible through the 特攻詳細 button on the event page.

There we will also see the bonus points percentage for every event card. Like everything you need to know about the event is here (and also the rule/ルール button since seasonal events sometimes have piece gacha to get event rewards, or the voting thing like during 2021 Valentine's).

Oz's card gives 10% bonus points.

Scroll down to see the traits that will unlock after reaching the level stated.

Getting a chibi leader with ALL of the advantageous traits (may be easiest to achieve in Granvelle Castle because of the participation gimmick) will give you extra attack power for EVERY calamity encounter circumstances, therefore increasing the success rate of your 1MP chibi team. Making use of these trait advantages to its highest potential by also slapping those golden traits on all of your party members, plus a perfect 98900-99900 parameters makes it possible for players to beat lv 15 ultra calamity with 1 MP. Crazy? I know. Panda actually did it with a strong self-buff leader, and all party members activated their skill. Seeing this, it may be possible when the SSR event chibi has the strong self-buff leader skill or strong leader buff mission skill. The lack of the mission skill activation rate up leader doesn't guarantee this to work all the time.

I have no screenshot of that perfect-traits chibi to share because I don’t have enough willpower (and cards) to try this and I could still finish Central Rhapsody pretty smoothly even with just slapping the 流星 trait on Green Lennox.

Panda noted that during the 1st Anniversary event, we had 5 circumstances and each of them answered to 2 special event traits only (they didn't work like the normal event trait). From the looks of it, the traits stated in the hint are not the name of the traits, and Panda found out by experimenting. This may happen again for the 2nd Anniversary event.

(May update this section once we have another Prelude revival because it has 4-5 event SSRs but my guess is that they'll have 4-5 circumstances with respective traits).

If it's not already obvious with the overuse of the word 'may', things can be different for each event. Some things may work now but not work later. That's the time to reconfigure your team and accommodate the new chibi skills and traits. Still, I hope this gives a clear idea on how to improve the attack power of your chibi team. Good luck!

Summary

Make an all-999 chibi team with mission skill rate up leader skill (for the leader) and leader parameter buff mission skill (for party members).

Farm for 5-leaf clovers. Get hundreds, thousands of them.

When event-ing, make sure you remake your leader to have the current rare event traits (the one with golden frame). You may need to adapt and revamp your 1MP chibi team to accommodate the event chibi and get the sweet event point bonus.

When encountering the lv 20 advanced calamity, bring three 5-leaf clovers with you, and fight with 1MP. You’ll need 2MP for lv 15 ultra calamity.

If you find the advanced calamity left with just 1K or 5K HP, boost your chibi leader by awakening them again, but this time with the golden event trait.

EXTRA NOTE: If you want to save on 5-leaves clovers, you can use the 4-leaves ones when fighting the ultra level calamity. I tried it and it should work pretty well. The chibi I used for the leader is self's parameters up by +42% (2nd Anniv Rustica), and he has the gold event trait. Will try and see if this works with mission skill rate up leaders.
