(Location: Manor courtyard)
Akira: Hmm, what a pleasant morning. Huh, what is that?
Akira: (A letter…?)
It was a certain early morning, all fresh and sunny. Riding the refreshing wind was a letter, floating through the courtyard.
The letter flew straight, as though it had magic casted upon it, or simply had the wind carry it to a predestined place.
Akira: (It doesn’t seem like it came here by chance…. I wonder where it is going.)
I became somewhat curious, and decided to follow the letter.
White: Hm? There seems to be something coming over here.
Snow: Why, it seems to be a letter.
Akira: (Ah, it slowly dropped to where Snow and White are.)
Akira: Good morning, Snow, White.
Snow: Oh, if it isn’t Master Sage.
White: Were you in a rush? Are you looking for us?
Akira: Ah, not quite. I saw the letter flying around, and wondered where it might go…. So the letter was for the two of you?
White: Apparently so. Snow, who sent the letter?
The pink envelope that had nothing written on it began to show the sender’s name from Snow’s light blow of air.
Snow: A witch from the West, Salonese.
Akira: Salonese… She is the senior Witch of Pastries, is she not?
Salonese: It is with great delight to welcome you here, Master Sage. I am Salonese, the Witch of Pastries from the West.
Salonese: Shylock, my dear friend, told me about you. I have prepared plenty of chocolate, all yours to enjoy. I wish you to enjoy this pleasant evening.
That name reminds me of when the mentor wizards showed me the Witch of Pastries’ castle some time before.
Residing there was the owner, Salonese, who made us a huge amount of chocolate looking just divine to the eyes that it was engraved in my mind.
Akira: The chocolate we ate back then was so delicious.
White: Indeed, it was a sweet and pleasant day. Such a wonderful event, to give and receive sweets.
Snow: We would not be able to enjoy such an event if it weren’t for you who told us about how the event of Valentine originally is.
Akira: Ahaha. The previous sage seemed to be quite the free-spirited person. They told you some things about my world, didn’t they?
Wizards have the ability to change their outer appearance, even of the opposite sex. The previous sage noticed and tried to make use of the fact, and told them this:
That Valentine is a ritual to entertain the Sage who cannot go back to their world. Such entertainment would be sweets served by the wizards in the form of beautiful women.
Although I hold some curiosity, my conscience got the better of me and I told them the truth, so I never saw them transform into witches.
White: Dear Sage, do you not feel a little bit disappointed?
Snow: You must have wanted to see how we would look as witches.
Akira: Eh!? N-no, I certainly do not….
Akira: More importantly, we should read what Salonese wrote in her letter!
Akira: She must have an important business with the two of you.
White: Such a childish and adorable excuse.
Snow: Then let us believe that. Let’s see now….
Snow traced the envelope, and a floral-patterned letter paper slid down. With it, a fluffy scent similar to a cake began to spread.
Akira: (Their face beamed…. Is it something joyful?)
Akira: Is it good news?
Snow and White looked at each other, and nodded in unison.
Snow and White: It’s an invitation!
Akira: An invitation?
Snow: That Valentine night at her castle, we had a conversation with her, and her vaunted garden became a hot topic.
Snow: With much enthusiasm, if chance allows, we’d like to hold a garden party next time, at her garden.
White: Salonese said she will send invitations once the preparations are completed, so we have been looking forward to it ever since.
Akira: I see. An invitation to a garden party, that sounds wonderful!
Snow: Salonese mentioned to also invite Shino and Mitile, who enjoyed the sweets last time.
Akira: By the way, when will the party be held?
Snow and White: This very day!
Akira: Today, you say!?
Akira: (I didn’t think it would be this short of a notice…!)
White: The more the merrier! We’d like to have more guests for this festive tea party. Master Sage, you would come with us, would you not?
Akira: Is it really alright? I would love to…! I’d like to have Salonese’s pastries again!
Snow: Hoho, wonderful, honest reply. Salonese must also be pleased to make her pastries.
Shino: What pastries?
