How About A Toast?: Chapter 1

[Location: Chloe’s room]

Chloe: Too ordinary, too basic, too old-fashioned…. None of these would work.

Chloe: It’s been three days and I haven’t made any breakthrough…. If I can’t come up with the design, how am I supposed to work on a new outfit?

Chloe: I’ll go breathe some fresh air and cool my head down for a bit. I’ll go outside.

Chloe: Huh? Who could be in the courtyard at this time of the day?

Chloe: ...Shylock? What’s he doing watching the moon?

Chloe: I’m not going to make any progress all cooped up in my room. Maybe I should go and talk to him.

[Location: Courtyard, night]

Shylock: Oh, who do we have here?

Chloe: Hehe, I’m stuck at outfit ideas. Then I saw you from my window, so I wondered what you’re doing….

Shylock: I had assumed the moon had guided you to go outside. I wouldn’t have thought it would be me. Heheh, what an honor.

Chloe: That would be great, but no thank you. I kind of left my tailoring work, so I gotta get back.

Shylock: I see. I shall be seeing you later, Chloe the zealous. I sure hope a great idea will come to you soon.

[Location: Manor corridor]

Chloe: I’ve been sinking my teeth to the desk for a long time, so going out was refreshing! I got to breathe some fresh air, too.

Chloe: Talking to someone else is also important, hm hm.

Chloe: I mean, duh, I can’t have a conversation with only myself.

[walking steps]

Chloe: ….

Chloe: Having a drink with the moon is so like Shylock. That sounds so cool, too.

Chloe: ...But you can’t talk with the moon….

[Location: Courtyard, night]

Shylock: ...It really is quiet. It is as though I am in an illusion where all lives came to extinction.

Shylock: I suppose that is plausible, were you to come close and peck the world with that silvery figure of yours. You are the moon, after all.

Shylock: Well, I shall empty my glass now.

Chloe: Um, Shylock…?

Shylock: Why, we sure see each other often today. ...Is that a wine glass in your hand?

Chloe: I took one from the kitchen. It’s just grape juice though, not wine.

Chloe: ...Can I join you in your late night drink?

Shylock: Why, yes. Do as you please.

Shylock: Here’s to the moonlit night, and the fate we share it with.

Card Episode: Improper Feelings

[Location: Manor lounge, day]

Akira: Did you often have late night drinks while moon gazing when you were in the Western country?

Shylock: I managed a bar, which means my working hours are when the moon is up high. It is difficult to do so because of that.

Akira: Ah, I see. And whenever you’re finally done, the moon will be gone.

Shylock: Precisely. That is why I have my late night drinks on my special days off.

Akira: The moon that is also called < the Great Calamity > is something scary in this world. Are you not afraid of it too, Shylock?

Shylock: It would be a lie to say that I am not. It is something capable of total destruction of this world, after all.

Shylock: Though I must tell you that < the Great Calamity > has never been an exceptional threat.

Shylock: As long as the chosen wizards are there for a counterattack, the moon will be driven back easily, and there should not be much damage done.
