Card Story: The Eastern Teacher’s Lessons (Faust, Mitile)

Card Episode: A Reputable Teacher (Faust, Akira)

The Eastern Teacher’s Lessons: Chapter 1

[Location: Lounge, morning]

Mitile: U-Um, Mister Faust!

Faust: Mitile? Is there anything you need from me?

Mitile: Yes! Actually, I... I was wondering if you could teach me anything that might be useful for our upcoming mission.

Mitile: I want to know if there’s anything more I can do…

Faust: ...You're speaking to the wrong person. You can ask Figaro for concerns like that.

Mitile: Doctor Figaro is…

Faust: ...What is it? Did something happen between you and Figaro?

Mitile: T-That’s not it. I mean... I want to be useful, of course, but I also want Doctor Figaro to acknowledge me.

Mitile: That's why I can't ask him...

Faust: ...I see. So you want to learn what Figaro hasn't taught you.

Mitile: Yes. You're the Eastern wizards' teacher, and I heard that you're very knowledgeable and that your lessons are easy to understand.

Faust: Hey, who told you all those lies? I’m nothing like that.

Mitile: Please! I want to do whatever I can to help before we head out for the mission!

Faust: ...I see.

The Eastern Teacher’s Lessons: Chapter 2

[Location: Lounge, morning]

Faust: ...But even if you ask me to teach you something new, there won’t be enough time.

Faust: A hastily-prepared skill would be dangerous because of the high chance of failure in action.

Mitile: No way...

Faust: The mission we'll be going to is especially dangerous. Rather than trying something new, it would be better to use the knowledge you have already.

Mitile: The knowledge I have already...

Faust: That's right. I’ve heard you're good at making potions and medicine.

Faust: Figaro also said that the medicine you make for his wounds is always very helpful.

Mitile: Is that true?! Ehehe, that makes me really happy...

Faust: The Bdelaglossa is a monster that attacks humans with its sharp fangs and claws.

Faust: Getting attacked by it can cause fatal blood loss. Not to mention the smell of blood can attract other monsters.

Faust: Mitile, if you can formulate a medicine that specializes in stopping the flow of blood, then why don't you prepare it? It will help if we're in a dangerous situation.

Mitile: I see, so a medicine to stop bleeding. I'll make it! Thank you so much, Mister Faust.

Faust: ...You're a good student. Too good for Figaro.

Faust: Just make sure you don’t overdo it.

Mitile: Yes!

Card Episode: A Reputable Teacher

[Location: Lounge, morning]

Akira: By the way, Faust. Mitile told me you taught him something about defeating a monster?

Faust: I made a simple suggestion, that’s all.

Faust: I just recommended for him to focus on what he's good at right now. It’s not like I taught him anything new.

Akira: That means you knew what he's good at and suggested what he can do with those skills, right?

Akira: If I were Mitile, I'd be very thankful for that advice too.

Faust: I did it because I couldn't ignore the feelings of a student who was willing to learn.

Akira: That's not something anyone can just do. Mitile also said that you’re a great teacher.

Faust: He's exaggerating. I'm not cut out to train anyone.

Akira: But I often see Shino seeking out your expertise.

Faust: Shino only asks questions about practical skills, but never about lectures. If only he'd learn a bit from Mitile.

Akira: (That thoughtfulness for his students is what makes him a good teacher, though...)

Special Home Screen Line

Faust: There are many spirits lurking around us. It's been long known that they are shapeless beings, a part of nature and the unknown power of the earth itself. Hm, I don't understand why you look so happy listening to me talk.
