Flower Crowns of the Bygone Days: Chapter 1
[Location: Town of Clouds]
Rutile: What lovely weather! I’m glad it’s so sunny today, Master Sage, Mitile.
Mitile: Me too! I’m happy the Master Sage came here with us on such a beautiful day!
We visited the Town of Clouds in the Southern Country, the place where Rutile and Mitile made their home.
We’d talked about it the night beforeー
[Flashback: Dining hall, evening]
Mitile: Master Sage, I heard it’s your day off tomorrow.
Rutile: Have you decided what you want to do?
Akira: Not yet, actually. I’m still thinking about it.
Mitile: Then how about coming with us to the Town of Clouds?
Mitile: Please allow us to show our hospitality by inviting you to our house!
[Flashback ends]
Akira: (And so I listened to them. Seeing how excited they both are about this makes me happy.)
Rutile: Okay, I’ll head home first to prepare our meal.
Rutile: Mitile, will you keep Master Sage company in the meantime?
Mitile: Leave it to me!
Mitile: Master Sage, I’ll tour you around the Town of Clouds while waiting for Brother to finish preparations.
True to his word, Mitile walked with me and told me about all the various places in town.
Mitile: The slope here is a bit steep, but if you look back, you’ll get a view of the entire town!
Mitile: And if you walk along the edge of this path, you’ll be able to smell the flowers!
Akira: You’re right... They smell good!
Mitile: Right!

Mitile: Everyone, it's Master Sage’s day off today.
Mitile: They’re always very busy, so we invited them to spend some time in our town.

Akira: Yes, I can see that. He’s always been really helpful to me too.
Mitile: Master Sage…
Akira: That’s why knowing that Mitile is one of the Sage’s wizards makes me really happy.
Mitile: ...I feel the same. I’m also glad I was chosen as one of the Sage’s wizards.
After that, Mitile resumed our tour around the Town of Clouds.
And for our last stop, he took me to his and Rutile’s favorite spot, a place just a little outside town.

Akira: Wow! What a beautiful flower garden!
Mitile: I’m glad you’re pleased, Master Sage. My brother and I really love this place.
Mitile: Ah, that’s right! I’ve made flower crowns for Riquet and Brother before. I’ll make one for you, too.
Akira: Thank you so much. Then, let me also give you a gift for showing me around.
Mitile: A gift for me? That makes me happy!

Akira: Is something wrong with this flower?
Mitile: Um, my mother once made a flower embroidery that we keep at home now, and it looks really, really similar to that flower...

Rutile: My, the flower in Mother’s embroidery grows around here?
Mitile: Yes. It was the Sage who found it! Here, look!
Rutile: Wow… You’re right. I should put these in a vase. I’m sure Mother will be happy.

Mitile: Master Sage, I made a nourishing potion using herbs from the South.
Mitile: You’ve been so busy lately, so if you want, you can drink this when you get tired.
Akira: Wow! That makes me happy, Mitile. Thank you so much.
Mitile: I brought back a lot of medicinal herbs during our trip to the Town of Clouds, so if you ever need more of this drink, just let me know.
Akira: Thank you. You showed me a lot of places in the Town of Clouds that day. It was really fun.
Akira: There are so many wonderful spots in town, but what’s your favorite thing to do when you’re there?
Mitile: Hmm. A lot of the time, I pick medicinal herbs that aren’t found near the Magic Manor.
Mitile: As for my favorite thing to do… I think it might be going to the highest spot in the town and looking at the sky and the scenery.
Mitile: I also like to relax in the grasslands and breathe in the smell of the earth and the animals. Doing that makes me feel like I’ve really come back home.
Akira: I can imagine. It’s such a nice and peaceful place.
Mitile: Right? I hope you also find your favorite spot in the Town of Clouds, Master Sage!
Mitile: There are still so many places I want to show you, so let’s go back together some other time!
