Starlit Ceremony for the Incantation of Blessings - Arthur: Chapter 1

[Location: Corridor, night]

Arthur: Master Sage, may I ask to borrow a little of your time?

I was just looking for Arthur when he himself called out to me, his face flush with excitement.

Akira: Of course. You seem happy. Did something good happen?

Arthur: Actually, I have something to ask of you, Master Sage.

Akira: Me?

Arthur: Yes. It’s about the secret ceremony that is held between the Sage and their wizards, which Masters Snow and White have learned from an old document.

Arthur: I’ve heard that the ceremony will strengthen the bond between us. If it is amenable to you, may I ask that you perform the ceremony with me as well?

Akira: Oh, you must be talking about the Starlit Ceremony for the Incantation of Blessings! I was actually just looking for you to talk about it!

Akira: According to Snow and White, this ceremony has varying effects on the wizards. Most have had good things happen to them…

Arthur: Then, how about we hold the ceremony after the party?

[Location: Manor's lounge, afternoon]

The Starlit Ceremony for the Incantation of Blessings required a special outfit, as well as words of blessing from the Sage and three other people with whom Arthur has strong bonds.

We let Snow and White prepare the special outfit.

And the three people I gathered to ask for words of blessings for Arthur were—

Oz: ….

Snow: Hohoho, what a happy occasion it is to send our dear Arthur our words of blessings. I should do it wholeheartedly on White’s behalf as well.

Faust: ….

—Oz, Snow, and Faust. Snow smiled at Faust, who bore a difficult expression.

Snow: Well, I certainly didn’t expect Faust to be here.

Akira: Arthur once said he wanted to be closer to Faust… So I thought receiving Faust’s blessings would make him happy.

Faust: I doubt that any words from a maledictor’s mouth would be much of a blessing to him…

Faust: But we’re all here to prepare for the blessing ceremony. I won’t just throw cold water on the idea.

Akira: Thank you, Faust. So, everyone, do you have any words of blessings to tell Arthur?

Oz: I witnessed him falling from his broom the other day.

Faust: What in the world happened? For someone with a magic affinity as strong as his, he shouldn’t be falling off his broom so easily.

Oz: He told me that he was sleep-deprived, and that his mind had become hazy on the way.

Snow: And you happened to be there to save him, I see.

Oz: I’ve been giving him mana stones ever since, so that he’ll use the elevator instead when he wants to return to the manor.

Akira: (Even taking precautionary measures… That’s Oz for you.)

Snow: Speaking of falling… I remember how Arthur once fell from the flight of stairs in Oz’s castle.

Akira: Huh!? The stairs in Oz’s castle are really long, though!?

Faust: What happened?

Snow: It was the boy’s birthday that day. White and I went over to celebrate, and he keyed himself up a might too much…

Snow: He insisted that he was already a big boy and refused to be treated with magic; he even ate his cake while holding back tears.

Akira: That’s cute… but was Arthur really okay?

Oz: …It was only when the twins left that he let himself cry. He had been enduring the pain the entire day.

Snow: When we reminisce on such times, it seems that Arthur has hardly changed.

Akira: (Arthur is looking forward to the ceremony. I hope he’ll receive wonderful blessings.)

Starlit Ceremony for the Incantation of Blessings - Arthur: Chapter 3

[Location: Granvelle Castle balcony, night]

It was finally Arthur’s birthday. He and I went up to the balcony after his birthday party to begin the ceremony.

It was said that the ritual would have a higher chance of succeeding if performed under the starry sky, in a place that has a connection to the wizard.

Arthur: This outfit that Masters Snow and White have provided me has a truly virtuous air… I feel like I ought to live up to its standards.

Akira: It suits you very well. The stars are glittering in the sky, like they’re celebrating your birthday. It’s a perfect night for the ceremony.

The night sky we saw from Granvelle Castle was adorned with a multitude of stars, making for a scenic view.

Though the festive mood from the indoor celebration still lingered, the magnificence of the night made the balcony feel as though it was in a completely different world.

Akira: I have messages of blessings for you from Snow, Faust, and Oz.

Hearing those names, Arthur smiled happily. I then held out my hand in front of his chest.

Akira: I’ll begin the ceremony now. Would you close your eyes, Arthur?

Arthur: Yes.

Arthur slowly closed his eyes, and I poured my heart into reading the messages of blessings and celebrations entrusted to me.

Akira: “Happy birthday, Arthur. Let us throw you a birthday party in Oz’s castle at a later date. May you grow up healthy in these coming years, my dear.”

Akira: That was Snow’s message. Next is Faust’s…

Akira: “Happy birthday, Arthur. I think you’re doing well on your own, but it wouldn’t hurt to ask the adults in your life for help. I don’t mind if you consult me sometimes.”

Akira: This next one is from Oz…

Akira: “You are still a child.”

Akira: And lastly, from me…

Akira: “To Arthur. Watching over your compassionate efforts to help both humans and wizards always grants me a sense of relief. I pray that thousands of blessings will come your way.”

When I finished reciting all the messages, a warm light gently flowed out from my chest.

Akira: So, how do you feel, Arthur…?

Arthur: Somehow, there’s a warmth spreading through my chest. I’m truly honored to receive such wonderful blessings.

Arthur: From hereon, I’ll consider them my precious treasures.

Akira: I’m glad to hear that. …Ah!

Akira: A shooting star! Arthur, look!

I frantically pointed my finger towards the sky, caught up in my excitement. But by the moment Arthur looked up, the star had already vanished.

Arthur: Ahaha, it seems that I was a second too late.

Akira: Sorry, I should’ve noticed sooner… It could’ve been nice for you to see.

Arthur: That’s not true, Master Sage. I’ve already seen something lovely myself.

Arthur: Your happy face.

Arthur cast his spell, and from a faint light appeared two extravagant chairs. He then said:

Arthur: And now, I have a reason to stargaze with you.

The silver moonlight shone upon Arthur, and in his dignified and kind eyes I saw a reflection of myself.

He looked so different from when he came to ask me about the ceremony. At that moment, Arthur’s smile was solemn and majestic, utterly befitting of a true prince.

Arthur: Master Sage. May I have the honor of spending some time with you?

Akira: Of course! Let’s find another shooting star together!

Card Episode: The Blessing of a Heartwarming Moment

[Location: Wizards’ manor hall, day]

Akira: Arthur, I heard Snow, Faust, and Oz threw a birthday party for you. How was it?

Arthur: They did. Masters Snow and White brought me to the North.

Arthur: We spent some time playing together, looking for a snow rabbit. But due to its hair being as white as the snow, it was difficult to locate one…

Arthur: Before we knew it, we were caught up in a desperate game of hide and seek with the snow rabbits. It brought me back to my childhood memories, so I had quite a lot of fun!

Akira: Ahaha, that’s very typical of Snow and White. I can imagine the three of you running around in the snow together.

Arthur: When I got back to the manor, Faust stopped by my room to give me a present.

Arthur: It was a bag of tea leaves that he often drinks himself, the sort that helps one relax. I drank it together with Master Oz. It tasted wonderful, and it was indeed quite relaxing.

Akira: With Oz?

Arthur: Yes. I wanted to tell Master Oz about the game of hide and seek I played with Masters Snow and White; I thought I could tell him over a cup of tea.

Arthur: We had a nice time together.

Akira: (So he told Oz about the day he spent with Snow and White, over tea that he received from Faust…)

Akira: I’m glad that you got to spend a wonderful day, Arthur.

Arthur: It was a truly wonderful day! I’m so happy to be able to receive so many precious gifts from everyone.
